What We Do

Mountain Rovers is a company located in Billings, Montana and we maintain a limited number of completed and vehicles as well as repair parts on premises. We provide full vehicle service and repairs, complete refurbishment and restoration services and engine/drive train conversions on site to your specifications. We design, build and install custom accessories such as roof racks, bullbars, external protection devices, electric and hydraulic winches and perform final service on all vehicles in Billings. This allows us to offer Classic Series Land Rovers to meet your individual needs. We offer Series vehicles starting as low as $6,500 and have supplied units as high as $80,000. Our average refurbished vehicle is in the range of $18-$45,000.

We also provide complete conversion and upgrade services for Land Rovers including engines, drive train and suspensions. You will also find, on occasion, NAS Defenders, Discoverys and Range Rovers available at our Billings location. Our philosophy is to build Land Rovers for people who will use them.

Refurbished Series Land Rovers
Our complete Land Rover Series II, IIA or III refurbishment includes the following:

    Full repaint.
    ** Optional ** - New interior including: seats, cubby box (console) and door panels.
    New tires (205x16" standard on 88") with numerous upgrades available.
    Fully tested and serviced I-4 2.25 Petrol engine and 4 speed gearbox.
    Frame fully stripped and sprayed, and repaired or replaced, as needed.
    All suspension components inspected and repaired or replaced as needed.
    All brake components inspected and replaced as needed (all receive new brakes).

Customer may choose various levels of refurbishment to suit your needs and budget. We also provide complete refurbishment services on customer owned vehicles. Your specifications are applied to the vehicle to produce a uniquely tailored Land Rover to suit your needs.

Time frame from order date to delivery is currently approximately 24-30 weeks for all refurbished vehicle projects.

An extensive range of customer specified options are available to fit your needs including:

    Specialty lights from PIAA, Hella or IPF.
    Custom Designed and Built Safari roof racks and bullbars.
    Parabolic Springs for Series Rovers.
    Aftermarket suspension components from ARB, Old Man Emu & Bilstein.
    Coil sprung chassis conversions.
    Full or partial chassis replacements.
    Complete frame off restorations.
    Warn Electric or MileMarker Hydraulic 2-speed winch installations for all Land Rover models.

Conversions
We perform engine and drive train conversions on all Land Rover products including Petrol to Diesel, Petrol or Diesel engine conversions using US manufactured engines, and unleaded engine head upgrades. Upgraded Land Rover engine conversions (Petrol or Diesel) are also available. We can custom build the vehicle of your choice, and at a very competitive price.

Land Rover Brokerage
Looking for that particular model? Have a unique equipment or color preference? We will undertake a search for the Rover of your dreams. That rare and hard to find model is available and given the proper time frame and a realistic budget, you can have the Land Rover you've always wanted.

Land Rover Importation
We import Land Rovers from in England or the Europeean mainland. We arrange for all Ocean Shipping, UK Export, US Importation including US Customs, USDA, DOT & EPA filings and clearance. For all direct import vehicles, we arrange for all US Import processing and shipping from Great Britain to your nearest port of entry.
